Sacred Heart Therapy LLC
"Faithful Catholic Counseling Serving Metropolitan Kansas City and the State of Kansas"
Hi, I'm Hunter Cook (pictured below), and in my work with clients I bring a lifetime of experience along with in-depth knowledge of the Catholic faith and training in faith-integrated counseling.
The thing I love most about being a therapist is journeying with clients - helping INDIVIDUALS find wholeness, COUPLES restore intimacy, FAMILIES heal interaction patterns, and GROUPS support personal transformation.
I work from a trauma-informed lens and have AEDP Level II and EMDR Level II certifications. Having navigated many seasons of life, I have accumulated over 18 years of ministry experience helping people find healing and hope. Currently, I am working through steps to become a certified Catholic Spiritual Director so I can provide clients the very best in faith and therapy integration.
My office is modern and fresh, located in the co-working suites at the Creative Planning campus at 435 and Nall - the buildings with the big KC Heart facing 435. This location is centrally located in south KC and is easily accessible from all points in the metro.
Regarding fees, I do not take insurance and am considered out-of-network, but superbills can be provided for possible insurance reimbursement. Payment can be made by credit card, debit card, or FSA/HSA. Please see the fee schedule below for more details and for sliding scale options.
Consider selecting the "Request Appointment" button above to book a first session. I would love to hear your story, discuss your goals and ideas, and take those first steps together.
You are meant to live the abundant life. That journey can begin today! I look forward to making the connection.

GROUP THERAPY
Group therapy is a great way to begin healing in a cost-effective manner while leaning into life-giving social support. Two options are available at this time:
Thursday evenings, 6:30-8:00pm, telehealth
INTERPERSONAL PROCESS GROUP
"Support and Accompaniment for Personal Work"
This group gathers for 10-week increments to explore topics such as trust, vulnerability, boundaries, family dynamics, and interpersonal difficulties. Past clients have shared how the empathic support they found in group counseling helped them find their authenticity, gain interpersonal confidence, and improve relationships. Anyone seeking breakthroughs, peace, and abiding inner security would enjoy this group. It is also a great place to start as a first introduction to therapy.
